These films are in the running for a Cinekid Award this year!

All competition films demonstrate how versatile, vibrant, and challenging children's films can be. This year, our Best Children's Film Competition features an abundance of animated films with powerful female protagonists. In Arco, Hola Frida!, Mary Anning, Olivia and Space Cadet, we see young women forging their own paths and taking us into worlds full of colour and imagination. Denmark has a notable presence this year with festival favourite Honey, the touching Lotte and Totte, and the world premiere of the disarming Mira.

At the same time, this competition is also bursting with playful adventures that will captivate our audience: the charming Bird Boy, the exciting Hajjan and the mysterious The Secret Floor. The only documentary in the selection, the playful Small Dogs Bark Loud, also makes an impression.

The winners will be announced between 18 and 24 October 2025 during Cinekid Festival at Pathé Amsterdam Noord, and you can already order tickets for the films that will take home an award. Don't miss them!
