Next up in the meet the team series, let us introduce you to the coordinator of Cinekid for Professionals: Fay Breeman
Fay, please introduce yourself and tell us a little about your background.
Hey, a familiar face? Yes, some of you might recognise me, because I have worked for Cinekid for Professionals before. I coordinated the Junior Co-production Market in 2014. Now I am back as coordinator of Cinekid for Professionals. Previously I have worked for the industry departments of International Film Festival Rotterdam, Netherlands Film Festival and Go Short. When I’m not working I like to cook, preferably recipes with cheese, and I sing in a soul choir.
Which media productions bring out the child in you?
Watching romantic films has been my hobby as long as I can remember. It all started off with Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and Beauty and the Beast when I was a child, followed by Amélie, Titanic and the likes in my teens. Currently I am working on finishing 100 films in Time Out’s list of the best romantic movies ever made. I am at 75 and counting.
What are you most looking forward to during the festival?
To see the things that you thought through in meetings and behind your computer finally come to life during the festival is always very surreal, exciting, and satisfying. I am looking forward to that feeling very much… But there is so much to do until then. Back to work!
