The Cinekid Experience 2-day programme offers pitch presentations of the latest and most dynamic projects in the market, a masterclass, seminar and the renowned Cinekid Conference. The Experience will unfold best practices and business solutions, and will serve up both the latest content and the newest trends, all brought to you by award-winning international guests and speakers. Topics such as live action, gaming, apps, new media and stop-motion animation will be examined during a 2-day Experience that will also present limitless networking opportunities with the cream of professionals from the sector.
Day 1 of the Cinekid Experience will comprise the Cinekid Conference.
The theme of this year’s Conference is: Live Action: where’s the action? We will focus on areas of key relevance to professionals working in the field of product provision for children and youth, topics such as: Original storytelling incorporating live-action, remakes of films and TV series, how commissioning editors are focusing on live-action, cross media and live-action, animation within live-action, youth documentaries, public financing via national and regional funding bodies, formats… and much more.
Lunch will be provided and after the conference you will be able to discover the child within you as you roam the curated 1200m2 digital playground - the MediaLab. With a drink in your hand you can enjoy the more than 40 installations, games and apps!
First speakers are announced!!
- Producers Tanja Nanette Badendyck of Norwegian Cinenord and Dutch Rinkel Film’s Reinier Selen, will share their experience of adapting the award-winning Dutch film COOL KIDS DON’T CRY for a Norwegian audience. Revealing never before seen footage they will give insight into the challenges they faced and choices they made when adapting this film.
- Multi award-winning scriptwriters Tamara Bos (WINKY’S HORSE, CLASS DISMISSED, FIDGETY BRAM) & Mieke de Jong (EEP!, TONY 10, WINTER IN WARTIME) reveal the secrets of their success, having written many of the most popular live-action films of the past decade. They have won, amongst other awards, numerous Golden Calves, the Prix Jeunesse and the Cinekid Audience Award, and were shortlisted for the Academy Awards. Both retain a tremendous passion for live-action children’s films.
- Maya Goetz, head of the International Centre for Youth and Educational Television (IZI), the Bayerische Rundfunk Munich as well as the PRIX JEUNESSE Foundation, will give a presentation on ‘good live action programming from the child’s perspective.’ She has published several books as well as more than 200 articles on the subjects of children, young people and television.
