'Media jungle' is the overarching theme for the 32nd edition of the Cinekid Festival. As an apt metaphor for the bewildering media volume, the countless offshoots and general cacophony presently enveloping the world, ‘media jungle’ has inspired a programme with strong links to the contemporary world. It is a wild and pristine media nature that remains elusive, intriguing, complex but often vibrantly festive, all at the same time. It swamps our senses and creates a kaleidoscopic whirlwind of images, in every shape and form.
The media jungle is also a recurrent theme in children’s media. Nature and the animal world play an important role in countless youth films, television programmes and new media productions. In the coming festival edition, Cinekid will focus especially on media flora and fauna, with films and TV productions in which animals, nature and the health of our planet play a major role.
Design agency Vruchtvlees has also developed a fresh new website for Cinekid. The site keeps visitors up-to-date on the latest news, it offers information for teachers and schools, and there are lists of the best apps and films for children. Professionals can turn to the pages of Cinekid for Professionals, a multi-day event for the children’s media industry.
A clear festival programme will be made available as the festival nears, with extensive filtering options and tips by celebrities and experts. And of course tickets can be ordered here at just the push of a button.
