European short animation competition opened up to productions from all over the world.
Through this programme Cinekid hopes to acquaint Dutch children with stories and ways of storytelling from as many countries as possible. Shorts entered for the Best International Animated Short Competition should be no longer than 20 minutes and contain no dialogue.
An international jury of children’s film experts and animation film professionals decide which film is awarded a Cinekid Lion Jury Award together with a prize of € 2,500 to go to the winning film’s production company. Cinekid has also launched a new competition for short productions from The Netherlands.
In the Best Dutch Short Competition new stand-alone productions (up to 50 minutes) made by Dutch producers compete for Cinekid Lions and 2,500 euro in three categories: Animation, Live-Action and Documentary.
