A major prize was handed out to one of the projects selected for this year’s Junior Co-production Market.
The Eurimages Co-production Development Award was granted to the Best Film Project presented during the Junior Co-production Market. The Award was given by European support fund Eurimages with the duel intention of supporting European youth film and to further stimulate European co-production. The winner received €20,000. The prize was handed out during the closing ceremony of Cinekid for Professionals 2018 in Amsterdam.

Jury citation: We decided to give the Eurimages Co-production Development Award to a project that surprised and convinced us at the same time. High artistic quality based on traditional European values combined with a modern cinematographic language. We (as the Jury) are convinced that Tony, Shelly & Genius has a universal approach, and the potential to travel and reach an international audience. And even more so Tony, Shelly & Genius has the outstanding possibility to become the first big screen experience for a new generation of children.
