Winners Cinekid’s TV and film awards announced

On Friday evening at the Cinekid Festival in Amsterdam, the jury and audience awards were presented for the best youth television and children’s films of 2018. The Belgian film Rosie & Moussa won the Cinekid Lion award for the Best Children’s Film. Fight Girl won the prize for Best Dutch Family Film.

The audience awards were also announced on Friday. Visitors to Cinekid could vote for their favourite productions throughout the festival week. The Norwegian road movie Los Bando won Best Children’s Film Audience Award, and Fight Girl was again voted the Best Dutch Family Film of 2018 by the public.

Television series Floor Rules (VPRO) took home the Cinekid Lion for Best Dutch Fiction Series. The jury chose Cooking Adventures (VPRO) as the Best Dutch Non-Fiction Series.

Cinekid Honorary Award
As part of the award ceremony, the Cinekid Honorary Award was presented to Anna van der Staak. Van der Staak has had an exceptional career in the world of children’s television for broadcaster VPRO. She oversaw the production of successful programmes such as The Daltons, Zaai, Roos en haar mannen and more recently Floor Rules.
