![]() | Marie-Louise Mares is an international expert on prosocial and educational effects of television content for young viewers. Her research focuses on understanding how children interpret and respond to television narratives, particularly those that are meant to teach prosocial or other moral lessons. In addition to being an associate professor in the Department of Communication Arts at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she is a parent of two children and has served as a consultant and advisor to Sesame Workshop and Public Television in the United States. |
