The opening of the 25th edition of Cinekid, the annual international Film, Television and New Media Festival for Children, will be extra special due to the presence of Their Royal Highnesses the Prince of Orange and Princess Máxima of the Netherlands.

The Prince and Princess will conduct the opening ceremony following the world premiere of the youth film Patatje Oorlog. After the opening ceremony the Royals are shown the MediaLab, Cinekid’s “digital playground”.

Sannette Naeyé, Cinekid’s Director: “It’s fantastic that the Prince and Princess are visiting our festival. A crown on our work of the past 25 years!”

Cinekid is held from October 12th to October 21st in Amsterdam, with the programme for media professionals starting on October 18th 2011.
