The nominations for the Cinekid New Media Award 2010, Jury Prize, have been announced. The entries for new media productions for children varied widely in character: console games, mobile games, websites, online games and applications, and interactive installations. A jury of professionals (Carla Hoekendijk, Christine van den Horn, Nathalie Korsman, Henk Loorbach and Rutger Verhoeven) has nominated a total of 12 productions. Which are thereby also nominated for the Cinekid New Media Award, Audience Prize. Winners of both prizes will be announced during the Cinekid Festival’s award ceremony on Friday 29 October.  They will receive a statuette - the Cinekid Lion - and the winner of the Cinekid New Media Award, Jury Prize will also receive a cheque for  €7.500.

Audience prizes redefined

The criteria for this year’s Cinekid New Media Award, Audience Prize and the Z@pp Cinekid Lion, Audience Prize, Film have been changed. For the Cinekid New Media Award, Audience Prize, the jury nominations will be  supplemented by expo-elements from the Medialab. For the Z@pp Cinekid Lion, Audience Prize, nominations will comprise the 16 films in the competition programme, the films in the Panorama film programme, and those in the Dutch Long programme. .

 

The full festival programme will be published on the Cinekid website as from 29 September.

The Cinekid Festival will be held on and around the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam from 20 to 29 October. Cinekid on Location will be held from 13 to 31 October at locations all over the Netherlands.
